Nose in a Book Reviews: The Prophet by Ethan Cross

The Prophet: A Shepherd ThrillerThe Prophet: A Shepherd Thriller by Ethan Cross

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Genre: Mystery/Suspense

This story was quite good. It was fast paced and definitely kept you on the edge of your seat through most of the book. With that said, it also felt a bit like a roller coaster that went on for a few minutes too long.

The story is told from quite a number of view points, that especially at the beginning, is quite confusing.

The Prophet revolves around Marcus Williams, a member of a secret federal organization that doesn’t really answer to anyone. What the police or the FBI can’t accomplish because of all the red tape, the Shepherd organization handles it instead.

The story is a bit confusing, but weaves itself around trying to catch the Prophet before he is able to fulfill his satanic ritual on the night of the eclipse. Throw in a serial killer fugitive who feels like he’s connected by fate to Marcus and seemingly ‘helps’ Marcus with the investigation by always being one step ahead of him – and you have a wild and crazy ride.

If you like a good suspense book filled with crazy twists and turns you never see coming, pick up The Prophet.
